This water well is over 30 years old and it was last cleaned 15 years ago. The well was plugged with clayey muddy incrustations as well as calcium and magnesium carbonate and iron oxide incrustations. This resulted in drastic well specific capacity drop. Dynamic groundwater lever reached critical level where submersible pump couldn't work no more. Rehabilitation was successful through combined use of mechanical and chemical treatment.

GAZA III water supply yard
Water wells are over 40 years old and have never been rehabilitated up to now. With nonspecific construction, they had to be rehabilitated and rebuilt to be usable until new wells were constructed.
The well was leaking sand because of the damage in the upper part of the casing. In this case, if there wasn't the worker's intervention inside the well, rebuilding as temporary solution could not be completed. Spiral screens with great open area were installed inside the old casing using the "casing in casing" system as the final solution.

After rehabilitating the well through combined mechanical and chemical treatment, specific well capacity is almost the same as it was when the well was first constructed in 1983.
